Alessandra Casu

Alessandra Casu is researcher and teacher of Urban Design and Urban Sustainability at the University of Sassari, Department of Architecture, and Board member of the international PhD in “Architecture and Planning”. She is also member of the Academic Board of the European Master in “Planning & Policies for city, Environment, and Landscape” at the Universities of Sassari, Venezia (IUAV), Lisbon (UTL), Girona, and Barcelona (UAB). Her research interests focus on the connection between theory and practice, and her research fields go from environmental planning and design to the theoretical and historical bases of planning and urban design, to the public participation in planning processes: actually, she coordinated programmes in Alghero, La Maddalena, Castelsardo, Cagliari, for the review of the General Landscape Plan of Sardinia, and the University participation at “Agenda 21” in Alghero (Italy); she also won (with others) the competition for the “participating” rehabilitation of five peripheral sites in Prato (Italy).
