Francesco Indovina

Francesco Indovina first worked with research and teaching in the field of Economy at the University of Pavia. By the late ‘60s his research interests shifted towards the field of territorial studies , with particular focus on economic and social aspects: industrial location, housing issues, non-sustainable construction, transport, methods and objectives in spatial planning. Over the past ten years, Indovina’s studies have focused on urban sprawl. Aspects of economic and territorial planning are constant themes of in his theoretical research as well as in practice. He is co-founder of the journals : Archivio di Studi Urbani e Regionali and cittàClasse, and director of the book series Studi Urbani e Regionali published by Franco Angeli. Among his most recent publications :La metropoli europea, una prospettiva, 2014; Dalla città diffusa all’arcipelago metropolitano, 2009; Governare la città con l’urbanistica, last edition, 2014.
