Giovanni A.M. Azzena



Giovanni A.M. Azzena has been teaching ancient topography at the faculty of Architecture in Alghero since 2001. He is lecturer in the PHD Architettura e Pianificazione. He is co-director (with M. Minchilli) of “GIS Research Laboratory for the environmental planning and historical territory”. In 2007-08 was General Directorpro tempore for archaeological heritage in Sardinia. Got his degree in Rome University “La Sapienza”, where he was to become researcher. he made his educational steps in scientific and methodological context of the “Roman School” of Ancient Topography. So, since 1985
he defined new systems of historical and archaeological data analysis and management (above all on geo-mapping), also aiming to cultural heritage protection and exploitation.
