Architectural design and its physical settings are generally conditioned by human action.
In coastal areas, where different ecosystems interact and affect the environment, the prospects for design are, however, considerably different. Architects and planners find themselves in a dynamic context, difficult to control. These challenging settings call for new interdisciplinary approaches and techniques.
