The title of the workshop reflects the condition we find the workable matter and surface on site. We allude to natural erosion created by the corroding effects on the coast line by natural agents such as wind and forces from the ocean: the natural ruin. We also reference human erosion through the effects of time and abandon of built structures and left to become ruins.
Upon analyzing the global scale and scope of the area, we believe that Porto Conte bay should be understood as a natural reserve that complements the urban density of the city, Alghero. Two poles, one green, one urban complement each other.

The challenge proposed to the students: In which way can architecture solve these erosions? What infrastructure should be thought and designed to articulate and bond with the natural space? It should be permeable, people should be able to access the natural areas.
